How do online courses work at Al-Dirassa?
A simple path to learn Arabic, the Quran or Islam with a teacher
At Al-Dirassa, online courses are organized to help each student learn in a clear, serious and level-appropriate environment.
Whether you want to learn Arabic, improve your Quran recitation, study Islamic sciences or enroll your child, our team guides you step by step.
The process starts with a free 30-minute trial. This trial allows the teacher to assess the learner’s real level, understand their goals and guide them toward the most suitable program.
This way, if the student decides to start the courses, they do not have to restart unnecessarily from zero: they begin according to their level, needs and pace.
One-to-one lessons, no group classes
All Al-Dirassa courses are taught one-to-one with a teacher. We do not offer group classes.
This format allows better learning, because the teacher can focus entirely on the student. The teacher observes their progress, difficulties and strengths, and adapts the explanations to their real level.
One-to-one lessons also allow the student to ask questions more easily, repeat, correct mistakes and progress at their own pace.
A free trial to assess your level
The free trial lasts 30 minutes. It takes place as a one-to-one lesson with a teacher.
- Level assessment: the teacher assesses the learner’s level in the chosen subject: Arabic, Quran or Islamic sciences.
- Discussion about goals: the student can explain what they want to learn, improve or study in more depth.
- Discussion about schedule: the teacher and student can discuss possible time slots and the weekly pace.
- Pedagogical guidance: the trial helps identify the learning path best suited to the student’s real level.
- Individual trial for each child: if a family wants to enroll several children, each child can have their own individual trial.
- Minimum age: trials and courses are offered to children from the age of 6.
A non-mixed learning environment
Al-Dirassa Institute organizes its courses within a non-mixed learning environment.
Men study with male teachers, and women study with female teachers. For prepubescent children, it is possible to study with a female teacher.
This framework allows each learner to study in a comfortable, respectful and suitable environment.
Subjects offered
Al-Dirassa offers several learning paths depending on the student’s goal.
Arabic courses
Courses may focus on Modern Standard Arabic, Quranic Arabic, Business Arabic or Egyptian Arabic.
Quran courses
Courses may cover recitation, Tajweed, Quran memorization, revision or preparation for Ijazah.
Islamic sciences
Courses may cover Aqidah, Seerah, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir and other sciences adapted to the learner’s level.
Courses for children
Specific learning paths are offered for children so they can learn Arabic, the Quran or Islam with age-appropriate teaching.
How do the lessons take place?
Lessons take place live through Zoom or Google Meet.
During the lesson, the student interacts with the teacher, reads, recites, repeats, asks questions and receives personalized corrections.
Lessons can last 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age, level, goal and chosen pace.
Courses are offered every day of the week from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Paris time, except on Fridays and Eid days. Exact time slots then depend on the teacher’s availability.
After the free trial
After the free trial, if the student wants to start the courses, they can go to the enrollment page. They first choose the desired weekly course volume, from 1 to 5 hours per week.
The student then chooses the duration of the subscription: 1 month, 6 months or 12 months, depending on their goal and desired pace.
Enrollment and payment are simplified. Depending on the chosen plan, payment can be made by credit card, PayPal or bank transfer.
Once the payment is validated, login details are sent to the student. They can then access their personal account.
From their account, the student can create the profiles of the learners linked to their account, assign each learner the purchased subscription or pack, and then book lessons according to the teacher’s availability.
Booking lessons from the student account
After enrollment, the student can access the teacher’s availability from their personal account. They can book lessons directly online, with automatic validation through their account.
The time slots discussed during the free trial can be used as a reference, but they remain subject to the teacher’s real availability at the time of enrollment. If a time slot has been booked in the meantime, the student can choose another available slot.
Lessons can be booked with recurrence, for example every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. The student can also choose to book lessons one by one, without recurrence, if they prefer to manage their schedule gradually.
A flexible organization
- Adaptable weekly pace: the student can request to change the course volume according to their needs.
- Adjustable schedule: time slots can be adjusted according to availability.
- Teacher change: it is possible to request a change of teacher if needed.
- Subject change: the student can adapt their learning path and move toward another subject.
- Personalized path: this flexibility makes it possible to build an organization adapted to the student’s progress.
Absences, rescheduling and cancellations
Lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled under certain conditions.
To guarantee the rescheduling of a lesson in case of absence, the student must inform the teacher by email or through their personal account at least three hours before the scheduled lesson time.
Up to three absences can be rescheduled over a 30-day period. Lessons cancelled under these conditions are credited back. Beyond three absences over a 30-day period, additional absences cannot be rescheduled.
Personalized pedagogical follow-up
Pedagogical follow-up is personalized because the lessons are one-to-one and individualized.
The teacher supports the student over time. They know the student’s level, strengths and difficulties, and adapt the lessons accordingly.
Course materials may be provided as PDF files depending on the program followed. The student can also view their lesson schedule from their personal account.
A team available to support you
Even after enrollment, the student is not left alone. The Al-Dirassa team remains available by email or through the personal account, especially via the communication area in the student account.
The student can request help to receive guidance, solve a technical issue, understand how their account works, change their schedule or report a difficulty related to course organization.
